Road Biking News by Marty Ryan

An American in Paris

What more could we ask for, Lance wins again and dominates! It was
a great Tour de France and we will have our own personal coverage

when Butch and Gina return from Paris. They called on Sunday during stage 20 as they were making the third loop and you could hear the crowd roaring in the street. Way to go Lance! By the way, you could own a piece of history simply by going into Bikeworld and buying a ticket for the autographed Lance book and poster. It benefits Carson’s fund and now is truly a collector’s item.

I am taking a class this summer that requires me to survey a population and plot and graph the results. I bargained with Dr. Lyons and asked if I could survey bike club members rather that parents. He agreed so I changed the school survey to a club survey using the 1-5 Likert scale. I only needed 10 so I sent them out to some friends who I knew I could count on. Everyone has taken it very seriously though and the data and comments are really excellent. Once the class is over I think it would be good to send it out to the whole CRCC and see what kind of great ideas are out there. Thanks very much for my helping me with a very unscientific sample!

Our favorite time of year is rapidly approaching when there are so many rides you have to make choices. Hopefully, I won’t leave any of them out. Basically, I put the most popular ones that we have patronized over the years. There are many more out there and if you want to promote one, let me know. August, September and October round out the year and I predict cycling will be very popular this fall! If you have a great idea, throw it out there and let's do it.
