2007 marks the seventeenth anniversary of the
Misaligned Minds 100 Bicycle Tour, a recreational bike ride through the
secluded back roads of rural western Kentucky. The ride starts and ends
from Bob Noble Park, 2800 Park Ave in Paducah, KY. While waiting for
riders, families and children can enjoy the amenities of the 116 acre Noble
Park, including playgrounds, lake tennis and basketball courts, picnic
shelters, tables, grills, a handicapped accessible nature trail and in-park
bike riding. Lower Town Art Studios, restaurants, movies, beautiful
downtown, Flood Wall Murals, museums and Kentucky Oaks Shopping Mall are all
minutes away. For those interested in enjoying an overnight or week-end visit, Saturday evening in historic downtown Paducah features "Downtown After Dinner" (7-10 PM.) There's live music, singing and dancing in the streets, shopping, outstanding restaurants, antique and vintage cars, motorcycle displays and horse drawn carriage rides. The roads are paved, generally well maintained and clearly marked. The ride will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 8:00 AM. |

| ROUTES | There are four routes, 25, 40, 65 or 100 miles. The 25 and 40 miles are extremely flat, Ohio River bottomland. The 65 mile metric century starts flat then gets into some rolling hills an flattens out again for the last 20 miles. The 100 mile century route gives the rider some of everything. There are long flat stretches, rolling hills and a few challenging climbs in Carlisle County. This is a perfect opportunity for fast riders to get a sub-5 hour century. It's also a fantastic tandem ride! The longer routes pass through tiny, unique rural communities, including the incomparable Monkey's Eyebrow, and the uninhabited natural Ballard County Wildlife Management Area. The roads are all paved, generally well maintained and clearly marked. All routes start and finish from Noble Park, in Paducah, KY | ||||||||||||||
| SUPPORT | Named by Bicycling magazine as one of the "Top One Day Centuries" in the country, the Misaligned is renown for hospitality and rider support. The 25 mile route offers 2 rest areas, the 40 has 3, the 65 provides 4 and the 100 mile rider has 5 possible places to stop and refuel. Rest areas are well stocked with an assortment of cookies, and/or food bars, breads, fruit, sport drinks and water. Rest stops are open till 4 PM. Toilets are located at each stop. For any rider needing assistance, roving SAG support lasts until 4 P.M. | ||||||||||||||
